Peace
Today we lit the candle of peace.
The truth is that there were a lot of candles lit at church today. There were about a hundred of them. We lit the traditional advent candles of advent and at the close of worship service people were invited to lite candles in memory of loved ones or of other losses. We lit candles to represent the things that we wanted to give to God so that we could experience Christmas this year. The candles were little lights that shined as symbols of light in the midst of the darkness of everyday life. All of these lights were the light of peace.
Yes, today we lit many candles of peace.
God is a real life God. He comes to us in our real lives so that we might no real peace.
