Spring Morning
Yesterday was one of those days to open the windows and let the spring air move through the house. We left the windows open through the night so this morning I awoke to the sounds of the morning coming to life. We have a birdhouse outside the window that my son Tanner built in scouts and there is a bird who has been busy building a nest in the house for the past few days.
This morning I could hear the birds singing outside. The songs of the birds as they worked and started their day filled my home. I could not help but think about how joyful they sounded as they started the day and how often times I groan to get out of bed. They go about there work with a song, with energy, and vitality. I have watched this bird building the nest for the past couple days. One twig at a time, one blade of grace or stray peace of treasure at a time the bird works through the small hole at the entrance of the house. Sometime it takes the bird several tries to get her piece of home furnishings into the hole. But, she keeps trying, And she is still singing.
I think Jesus told a story about birds. We can learn from these birds.
What is the song in your heart? Are you singing it as you awake each morning and go throughout your day? Is the song resonating in your heart and resonating from you as you do your daily work? When you face challenges do you keep singing your song?
Jesus wants to be our song. He is the source and the giver of each day we have. He is the reason to sing each day. His praise should be constantly on our lips. He is our hope. He is our strength when we are weak, our joy comes not from our circumstance but from our Lord.
Love today.
