New Casting Crowns

God has a a way of using music to speak to me.   I have always been a fan of Casting Crowns because their music helps me to think about what it means to live out my relationship with Jesus.  My wife got me their new CD and I seem to be listening to it whenever I can.  The song that God is using right now to talk to me, and convict me about how I live, is called "Jesus, Friend of Sinners".  I want to share it with you today.   The words are powerful and help us to think about how we live our lives can either draw people to Jesus or be a stumbling block.  I pray that I can be more like Jesus and that he would break my heart for the things that break his.

Love today.

In Christ's love of mine,
Doug

Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth's become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You but they're tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up I'm so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours

Yeah...

Jesus, friend of sinners, the one who's writing in the sand
Make the righteous turn away and the stones fall from their hands
Help us to remember we are all the least of thieves
Let the memory of Your mercy bring Your people to their knees
No one knows what we're for only against when we judge the wounded
What if we put down our signs crossed over the lines and loved like You did

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours

You love every lost cause; you reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame; they're the reason that You came
Lord I was that lost cause and I was the outcast
But you died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet

'Cause You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks Yours

And I was the lost cause and I was the outcast
Yeah...
You died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet

Hi brother, I didn't listen to the song, I didn't read your posts, I only needed to see one thing, "I refuse to play church." Amen! I'm devoted and in love with Jesus. But the traditions, the common acts, the monotony of the church behaviors are driving me out of my church services. I'm struggling to stay in the church. I have no struggle with my beliefs nor my devotions to God. But I'd ask for your prayers. God help me to hold fast. I need to be with my people but they're not worshipping. They're attending. It's a show. "See me be here?" "I'm here every Sunday." "I never miss a service." I've heard it all but I see nothing of worship or service. My goodness, what's happened to the church? I can't find my way. I'm becoming quite discouraged and I'm afraid. I can't "backslide" nor "fall away." I need to be joined to a church family. God bless you! Be the answer for your flock.
