Thank God it's Friday!

Today is Friday and as we give thanks for another week of work coming to an end and for the weekend ahead lets remember to be grateful for the ways that God has revealed himself to us throughout the week.

I was blessed to worship with brothers and sisters in Christ at Sweet Lake United Methodist Church a few years back. Sweet Lake Church is in Southwestern Louisiana and the folks worshiping there had been effected by Hurricane Rita. I was there on a mission trip. During their service they had a moment that they asked people to share a time in the week that they had "bumped into God." People stood up and shared how they saw God in their families, in co-workers and in the kindness of strangers. They shared big ways, but mostly they shared little things that a big impact on them.

I thank God for those moments this week that had a big impact on me. I am thankful that I can, and do, encounter him in my family, in the people that I visit, in the strangers that I encounter and the people that I work with.

Thank you God for being you and working through the people that you do to help me see you in my ordinary, everyday life.

Where did you bump into God this week?

What are you thankful for today? If you don't mind sharing I would love to hear it and give thanks with you.

Give thanks to God! Love today.

In Christ's love and mine,
Doug

God was in my day from the very start. I actually overslept and about 7:00 my phone rang. It was my babysitter for tonight calling to see what time I was going to pick her up. Thankfully she called when she did, or we may have not got out the door in time. (We actually got out the door 5 min early!) For that, I am thankful!

I am thankful for nice people. People who say a simple "hello" at the store or a wave in the car when you pass theirs. I am thankful for genuine people. People who really care about you, not just pretend to then judge you behind your back. I am thankful for my husband and my children and our entire support system. I know I am not perfect...so I am thankful for the people who forgive me when I am cranky, say the wrong thing or do something stupid.

I am very blessed, and I am very thankful!

I find it easy to be thankful when things are going great, but sometimes I find it tougher when life is dealing me a bad hand! I am thankful for understanding and supportive friends. I am thankful that God never sweeps me under the rug - even when he probably should. Sometimes I'm not very loveable, and I'm thankful that God loves me then too and so do my bestest friends. Thanks to all my dear friends.
