Vacation Re-creation Day 1

I woke up this morning just a few feet from the lake. The family and I are beginning our 2 week vacation. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with each other and reconnect with God. We will be camping for the next two weeks and I plan to spend each day enjoying my family and enjoying God's presence. This a a vacation for us to have the image of God recreated in us. We are spending it in a re-creational vehicle, our camper.

This place is beautiful. The weather is wonderful. We have already been able to reconnect with some old friends and we had a great day. I am looking for God everywhere I go. This morning shortly after we had breakfast and the picture of Delaney was taken. I was setting alone outside looking out at the lake feeling the wind blow off the lake. It caused me to think of the old Hebrew word for the Holy Spirit. Ruach. It means breathe or wind. I was then taken to the song by Casting Crowns, "I know Your There." This song talks about how God is always there for us. It was as if I could feel the touch of God as the wind blew.

Then I saw flying over the water a bald eagle. It was one of those awe inspiring sights. Nicole and the kids were in the camper so I jumped up still trying to keep my eye on the eagle because I didn't want to miss the sight. As I jumped up a banged my face right into our awning rail. By the time I shook off the blow and got the ids out the eagle was nowhere to be seen.

This is going to be a good time of re-creating and encountering God in nature, in my family, in old friends and new friends I meet. A great time of being filled with the "wind."

Love today.

In Christ's love and mine,
Doug

Here is the Casting Crowns song-- enjoy!

Looks so relaxing there. Glad you are reconnecting - just try not to connect with the awning any more! Have a great time. Where is Skeeter? Do the flowers on the porch need watered?

Thanks Tammy! Skeeter is vacationing with his Uncle Doug in Kearney and I am sure the flowers would love some water. Thanks again.
