Somewhere between

Do you ever feel caught in the middle between a place that you are going and a place that you have been.

As I have been thinking about God's dream for me and for the church. I have found myself in this uncomfortable place in the middle. I am somewhere between where I was and where God wants me to be. I am somewhere between letting go of everything and holding on. I am somewhere between faith and fear. I am somewhere in the middle not quite where I want to be and where God wants me to be. There is a song by Casting Crowns that talks about this. I think that we all get there, in fact it is a sign of growth. We are growing or we would not be in the middle we would still be at the beginning, or the starting point. Slowly we move toward God and toward God desired future for us. I think it is good to open about where we are at. To be honest about our "somewhere in the middle-ness." If we are not sure about where we are we will never get where we are going.

Be honest with God about the fear that is holding you back from stepping into his preferred future. Be open about the things you are having trouble letting go of. Thank God for the growth that you can see already. Keep moving forward. You are not stuck. God won't leave us where we are at. As Paul writes, "press on!"

Here is the song for you to listen to.

Love today.

In Christ's love and mine,
Doug

Sounds good - but I think I am closer to pressing DONE, instead of ON with a few things. I always thought the right thing is to be involved, to step up and not just sit in a pew - but is it okay to step out for a while? To just sit in the pew and take it in, to not take on "jobs" in the church. Can these "jobs" get in between me and God and what He really wants me to do? Or are these challenges that He does want me to do to learn and grow. I am so confused!

that song was awesome it actually gave me goosebumps. I think people tend to beleive that a Pastor is just took care and have no worries or fears but they do. A Pastor has his own family to care for and then the family's of his entire congregation plus many more. I used to have to drag my rear outta bed to go to church but since I have started coming to Dockery I look forward to hearing you preach, and you dont just stand up there and preach from the bible you preach from your heart. My life has changed so much in the lsat month, I truly feel GOD at work with me and Shane as well, I never imagined the day that Shane would be calling me from the Booneville Correctional Center and say grab your bible and read this verse and that verse. It is so awesome to feel GOD at work in my heart and my family, and I only have you, Kathy and Dockery to thank for that. God is doing great things in my life and I am very excited. The words that comes from Shane's mouth when he calls me is the new HIM and I cant wait till he is home and we can start our new journey through GOD togeather, we already are to a point we read verses togeather on the phone. To you Doug and Dockery Chapel and Kathy, Shane and I thank you. You have opened our eyes to the life that GOD has planned for us, and yes there will be bad days and obstacles to overcome but there is nothing we cant get through as long as we allow GOD to guide us. I pray for you Doug, everynight and thank GOD for you. Thank YOU!!
