God listens and responds

You might want to read Psalm 18.  This was inspired by it.

I have always been told there its a difference between hearing and listening.  Listening is a skill.  Listening is done with more than our ears.  It is done with our hearts and our minds.  It is done with compassion and care for the one who is speaking.  Listening is a selfless act.

The psalmist reminds us that God listens.  God hears us when we cry out to him.  Our prayers don't bounce off the cosmos or the ceiling.  They land on the caring ear of God who is our shelter, shield, rock and fortress.  God does not just listen, he also responds.  God lifts us, comforts us, protects us, saves us.  God protects, blesses, comforts, and wipes our tears.

God listens and responds.  Talk to him.
