I am weak but he is strong

I am weak.

This is a deep theological truth.  We sang about it if we learned the the song "Jesus loves me."  We, you and me, are the little ones, the children, and we are weak but he is strong..  We never grow out of being children of God it is something that we actually grow into as we grow in our relationship with God. Maturity in the faith is a growth in understanding our total dependence on God and living life totally dependent on God.  We grow into the knowledge and grace that we can do nothing with Jesus.  We are weak, hopeless and helpless on our own.  Yet, we have a God whose strength is made perfect in our weaknesses.  We just have to give him our weakness.  We have to surrender the false idea that we can do anything.  The false idea that we are strong enough.  The false idea that we are responsible for our victories and our successes.   The false idea that we actually have done something to deserve what we have.

As I read the 21st Psalm this morning I was really hit with how the king gives all the credit to God.  God is who crowns him king, wins the battles, protects him from his foes and gives him life.  It is God's strength that he rejoices in-- not his own.  It is not about him, or us, it is all about God.

Jesus loves you and me.  This is good news!  Rejoice in his strength and who he is in your life.  Surrender to God.

Love today.

In Christ's love and mine,
Doug
