Foundation
Psalm 11:1-7 NIV
In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain. For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows
at the upright in heart. When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?" The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them. The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur;a scorching wind will be their lot. For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.
Evil lurks in the shadows. It is just waiting for us to weaken. Evil is there always because we have the conditions to do evil in us. This does not mean we are evil or we do evil. But, the truth is we can. We all have the potential. It is in the "shadows" of ourselves. Lurking. We have to be on guard against it and we have to constantly be reinforcing our foundation. Constantly building our lives on Jesus. He is our foundation. The evil that is lurking is just waiting for us to show a crack and then it will start to chip away. We have to be real about our relationship with God and not play around pseudo faith or just feel good sayings. Because when we stray from relationship with Jesus to something other. Our foundation crumbles and evil's attack cannot be rebuked. We need to constantly seek God and settle for nothing less than seeing him face to face. Overwhelmed by his love and Grace living in his love and grace.
Love today.
