Forgiving Ourselves
Sometimes the hardest person for us to forgive is ourselves. When we fail to forgive ourselves we are imprisoned by things like guilt and shame. When we fail to forgive ourselves we are weighed down by poor self image and low self esteem.
God does not want us to be imprisoned and weighed down by these things. He wants us to live lives free of this stuff. That is why Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead. God is not going to hold things against us so why should we? Why do we? The good news says that "you are forgiven." Hear the good news today. Forgive yourself, forgive others and be set free to live.
I could not help but think of this song as I thought about this post. It is another great reminder for us from Casting Crowns.
